Integrating with your printer
The ixPressia PrintEngine™ supports many different ways of integrating with the printer hardware and motion system to allow you to choose the best method for your application. The PrintEngine™ can run ‘dumb’ or ‘smart’, either controlling the printer or being controlled by an external computer acting as the system controller, such as PLC.
For XY and scanning systems the PrintEngine™ can be easily interfaced to standard industrial PLC and motion systems. This allows sophisticated printing modes to be implemented (such as bi-directional, variable resolutions etc).
For web systems the PrintEngine™ can communicate with the external PLC or computer controlling the web. The external computer can control the state of the PrintEngine™ as appropriate.
Peripheral Control and integration
Integration with external peripherals is easy to add using the PrintEngine™’s plug-in API, a software interface that allows developers to implement additional control functionality. There is a library of existing plug-ins for key peripherals.
Support for Maintenance
The ixPressia PrintEngine™ has features to help maintain the performance and reliability of a printer when it enters production. These include full logging and maintenance interfaces.
