Do I need an RIP?
No. IxPressia PrintEngine™ has all the components needed to print a colour image including a Postscript RIP.
Can I interface IxPressia PrintEngine™ to my favourite RIP?
Yes. It is possible to import an image at any stage into IxPressia PrintEngine™.
Do I have to buy your hardware?
No, our software is compatible with any standard hardware available on the market.
Can I use my own hardware with ixPressia PrintEngine™?
Yes, using ixPressia’s consultancy services we can integrate with any suitable hardware.
I am just interested in image pipeline, do I have to integrate with a datapath?
No, you can use the ixPressia PrintEngine™ Offline version.
How does colour management work?
To use colour management in IxPressia PrintEngine™ you need to prepare an ICC profile for the printer. This is done using a calibration kit from one of the many companies that supply them (like Gretag-Macbeth). Typically the process is that a test pattern is printed and then measured on the spectrometer. The calibration software then computes the ICC profile file.
Can I pick and choose which parts of IxPressia PrintEngine™ to use?
Yes. It is completely modular. You can choose which components to use in your application.
Can IxPressia PrintEngine™ be integrated into an existing system?
Yes. There are several ways. The easiest is to drive IxPressia PrintEngine™ remotely over Ethernet (using an XML protocol). This is appropriate where another computer has the user interface or is generating the data to be printed.
Can we customise ixPressia PrintEngine™ to include features unique to us?
Yes, a bespoke version of ixPressia PrintEngine™ can be created.
Does IxPressia PrintEngine™ support the new Greyscale heads?
Yes we fully support Xaar 760, Xaar 1001 and Spectra/Dimatix.
What operating systems does IxPressia PrintEngine™ run under?
A PC with Windows XP or Windows Vista.
What kind of printers can IxPressia PrintEngine™ drive?
Colour or monochrome with XY or web based stages
What printheads is IxPressia PrintEngine™ compatible with?
Konica Minolta, Xaar, Spectra/Dimatix.
What datapaths is IxPressia PrintEngine™ compatible with?
Xaar XUSB, Konica Minolta EB100, TTP Meteor.
